Dueler is an Japanese animated television series created by Matsuo Benjiro and Egusa Yoriyuki based off Matsuo's original Dueler series. ToonIn and SynergySP will produce the new series, with it being broadcast on AnimeNation, and it'll have it's American broadcast on Vision's Rising Sun in 2018. It will air on AniWeekend sometime during January of 2018.

Development[]

During 2016 and early 2017, Dueler was reran on AnimeNation and as well on early mornings on Vision, it surprisingly got good ratings, much better than the higher ups expected. They contacted Matsuo Benjiro for a chance to develop a sequel series for the show in the 2018 anime season. Egusa Yoriyuki signed on to the project to help produce the series and write some of the stories.

A second season was announced for late 2018, focusing on a second world final.

English language release[]

Typewriter Productions announced that they will produce a dub themselves alone and license it for television use on Vision. Later on, it was announced that Paramount Home Media, along with Shout! Factory will release the series on DVD and Bluray in 2019.

Plot[]

Ten years after the events of the original series, Taro, Ekara meet up with Rei and Lee again in Light City, Tokyo when they hear of the new tournament for the new sport, TAGLIGHTDUEL//.
